How to Perform a Tumblr Search
Tumblr used to include a lot of adult images but the website is now filtering XXX content. That doesn’t mean that you won’t see shocking or suggestive images, given the right search filter. You can also find profiles that people may not want you to see.

1. First, go to https://www.tumblr.com/search/
If you go to the Tumblr homepage, you’ll be directed to sign up and log in, but going straight to the link above will allow you to immediately search and view results!
Important! If you are already logged into Tumblr via the app, you can select the ‘magnifying glass’ search button.
2. Enter what you’re looking for.
The search results you’re looking for maybe a name, username, topic, or another search term. Try as many terms as possible and be specific! Write down everything that you know about who you’re looking for, in advance, and start there.
3. Filter the search.
To filter the post by type, select from the built in search tools at the top. These include: Trending, Staff picks, Text, Photos, GIFs, Quotes, Chats, Audio, Video, and Asks!
These additional search filters can be helpful if you get too many search results the first time.
4. Search by hashtag:
You don’t need to enter in the hash (#) symbol, but think of terms as a hashtag! For instance, if searching for people in San Diego, search it as one word: SANDIEGO
5. Try a Photo Search!
If your Tumblr search results didn’t reveal as much information as you wanted, you may need a search that relies upon a better algorithm. To scan the web as a whole, go to socialcatfish.com and try a photo search. You can even use a screenshot of an profile image taken from another platform. Just crop out any graphics or logos from other sites so the emphasis is on the person in the photograph.
6. Search by Phone Number or Email Address
You can search by name, username, phone number, email address, or photo at Social Catfish (www.socialcatfish.com). This can give you access to the many social platforms and websites that web users access. By locating the web trail of the person you’re looking for, you can find them more easily!
7. Search by Friends:
If you absolutely cannot find who you’re searching for on Tumblr, you do have other options. Search for others that person may know. If you’re looking for a scammer, search by name, photograph and username, followed by the friends that individual interacts with online. If you’re searching for a cheating partner, search by the name of the friend you feel would be most likely to look the other way if they were cheating on you.
