Another classic scam is claiming that you’ve won a prize. Here scammers will send you a link, and much like the phishing scam, you will be asked to give them a ton of personal information in order to claim your prize.
They will either do it this way, or simply ask that you send them a fee in order to obtain your prize. If you do this, they will simply take your money and use it for personal gain without sending you any prize.
4. Help You Earn A Lot Of Money
The reimbursement scam is when scammers tell you that all you need to do is send them a small fee along with some personal information and you will receive a whopping $10,000. It seems too good to be true doesn’t it? Well, that’s because it is. If you send them the money all they will do is block your account, take the money, and you’ll never see a cent of the promised $10,000.
5. The Lovers Scam
This scam revolves around people you meet on dating apps. Once you begin speaking with someone who seems to share much of the same interests, and is a joy to talk to, then they begin asking for money.
They will tell you it’s for an emergency, or they’re strapped for cash and need some groceries. If you fall for this they will continue until you tell them that you no longer have any money, or that you’re cutting them off. Once you do this, they’ll block you and you won’t hear from them again. The only memory you’ll have of them is a drained bank account.
