Psychic Scam: Look out for These 4 Clairvoyant Scams

Curious about the future? Want to discover your right and perfect career path or wondering if a longtime love interest will ever tie the knot? Maybe you’ve recently been dumped and want to know if it’s time to win them back or move on from the relationship entirely?

Psychic and clairvoyant scammers prey on those who are having a hard time in their lives. They will claim they can help you with home or work life, your health, or even romantically. Other psychic scammers attack innocent, happy people to scare them out of money!

They try and make you believe they are mini deities who channel the truths of the universe. In reality, they are scammers making money off trickery. These types of scammers usually aren’t gifted psychics, but people who want to make money quickly.

Watch out for These Psychic and Clairvoyant Scams

My-Post-6

Clairvoyant Approach

They “know” things about you. They approach in a public place, at a party, or even online. They affirm the positive or focus on your fears, and make you feel like they can see right through you. If you step back from the surprise of what they have told you, you will know that they are no different than anyone selling a business service. They want you to buy their product and their product.

They may even have researched you before they approached. Block this type of scammer or unfriend/unfollow them online! Wondering where they got information about you? Do your online search:

Psychic Threats

My-Post-4-2

Just as online criminals threaten to destroy computers or expose people’s secrets, unless they wire them money, a psychic threat scammer does the same. Don’t fall under their spell! They want your cash and will say anything to get it!

They might claim they can curse you or your family, unless you give them money! Others threaten to put a hex on you or make a dangerous voodoo doll representative of you. The one thing they have in common is that they are threatening you and trying to extort money! Contact your local police station and file a report. If this is happening online, contact the federal government: https://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx/

Spiritual Cleanse

For less than a hundred dollars (or even for much, much more!) this type of scammer is the inverse of the psychic threat scammer, but still just as financially dangerous. They pretend that all they want to do is protect you, by cleansing your soul or chakra.

They might offer to tell you about adverse events they foreshadow and claim to have psychic truths which might protect you, ward off danger, or even save your life or that of someone close to you! The only problem is their so-called psychic powers just happen to be very expensive. This doesn’t only occur in-person; some people do this by way of paid “remote” healing!

Product Peddler

My-Post-5

These types of scammers will want you to buy their sacred charms, Wiccan mirrors, karmic cleansers, magic spells, or crystal balls for a fee. They’ll give you generic psychic advice online or in person, and text, email, or send you links to their online site or store. The truth is that these products are overpriced trinkets they’re making money off of, by appealing to your need for clarity in your life.

As these types of scams can happen in-person or remotely and online. There are also many forms of payment they might ask for – including PayPal, direct wire/money transfers, cryptocurrencies, prepaid and gift cards, cash, and online financial details.

Don’t assume that a scammer who is pretending they are psychically gifted won’t also try and verify your bank information or even your social security number, pretending they need it to get in touch with your psychic essence. Once these scammers have your information, they might sell it to hackers or use it for recurring or fraudulent charges!
