Responsible Data Alliance’s Commitment to Service

Data improves our lives in invisible ways every day. It improves our health, our relationships, and even presents us with new opportunities. But for a select group of people, having their information publicly available makes them vulnerable to attacks. The Responsible Data Alliance is dedicated to ensuring that in our partner site’s mission to make the world a better place through innovative technologies, the voices of the vulnerable are not forgotten.

The partners in the Responsible Data Alliance (RDA) work with data companies across the nation to make sure that people with safety concerns are removed from public view. These people are called Protected People. Protected People have records of incidents that demonstrate a credible threat to their safety. For these people, the RDA will remove their data from public view to make sure they are not searchable on our partnering platforms.

Before the RDA, there was no easy solution to taking down you’re data. If you were someone who wanted your information taken down, you would have to call dozens of data companies, fill out countless forms, pay thousands of dollars to third-party services, and wait for your request to be processed by each company. Now, Protected People can contact the RDA to file their requests. The RDA will take all of the information down from all of our partner’s sites from across the internet free of charge. This convenient solution can keep you from being a victim in the future.

Where Did RDA Come From?

The Responsible Data Alliance is a passion project of socialcatfish.com. At Social Catfish, our mission is to help everyone stay safe online. We achieve this by giving our customers the confidence of knowing they’re only a few clicks away from seeing anyone’s true identity on the internet. The Responsible Data Alliance is an extension of this mission because it gives Protected People the power to control their own data, to help them stay safe online and in life.

How do I have my information taken down?

Protected People fit the following criteria:

  1. They have been a victim of a violent crime in the past decade
  2. They have a restraining order or another court-issued document that indicates a credible threat to their safety
  3. Their application has been reviewed and approved by the RDA’s removal team

Responsible Data Alliance’s Partner’s

The RDA is proud to partner with Search Bug. We work to gather to make sure that the new fast-paced world of enhanced human experience through data doesn’t forget those who are in need of protection. In our mission to make useful information readily accessible to all, we take great care in ensuring that the protected people in our digital communities are taken care of.
