How to Change Your Name on Tinder

Need to change your Tinder name? Well, updating your name on Tinder isn’t exactly straightforward. But in this article, we’ll show you a little-known workaround. So let’s jump into it!

Did you download Tinder hoping to meet someone online, but you accidentally used your real name during the signup process?

The only caveat with changing your name on Tinder is that your name and age are the only items on your Tinder profile that you can’t actually change after you have created an account. But if you aren’t tied to your current profile, there is a solution that we’ve outlined below.

If you are serious about wanting to change your name on Tinder, you’ll need to delete your account and start over. To do that, just follow the steps below.

1.)   Open your Tinder app or sign in to tinder.com (if you aren’t already signed up).

2.)   Next, you’ll want to tap on your profile icon (this is usually your “home” photo).

3.)   On your profile page, you’ll want to now click on “settings.”

4.)   Once in “settings,” tap “delete account.”

5.)   Just like with most platforms, Tinder will confirm that you want to delete your account. Once you click “confirm,” your account will be deleted.

6.)   Delete the app from your phone and then re-download Tinder.

7.)   Create a new account with the new name that you want for your Tinder profile.

Before you elect to delete your account, make sure this is what you actually want to do. Once you do delete your account, you’ll immediately lose all your matches, past messages, any purchases you have made (i.e., super likes, boosts, and more), and any other information that is associated with your former account. All of this will be lost permanently unless you have a Tinder subscription. If you do, you’ll have the option to restore your past information onto your new account.

Before you take the plunge with deleting your Tinder account, make sure you are okay with losing all your current information. If changing your name on Tinder is more important to you than losing your past information, then it looks like you have your answer!

Once you set up a new account, consider using our reverse image search technology to enhance your experience even more! You’ll wonder why you didn’t use this all along.

Spend More Time Connecting With Your True Matches

Do you know what the worst part about online dating is? The fake accounts. Wasting time talking to a fake account is bad enough, but the emotional letdown that comes with it can be devastating. After talking to thousands of people who have been catfished online,  we can tell you, you’d be surprised at how long some of these catfish relationships can last, and how big of a disappointment it can be when they find out it was all a lie. But what can be done?

Using a special tool called a reverse image search you can search your matches to see their digital footprint. This will help you determine whether or not they’re legit. Running this search is easy, just upload one of their pictures into the search bar below.
