When I provided my account guarantor information, the woman spent over 30 minutes looking into billing matters on my account and found everything in order. She told me that they have an outbound team to handle billing when a bill is coming up due or due. However, this

Called stating wake med billing department and for confirmation he was asking my address and date of birth, without giving my information i asked what is the about and he dropped off. These are phishing call to get our personal data and credit card bank account details.

Total BS cold call. Both numbers are fake. Another way to get your info. I NEVER answer any cold calls or unknown # to me

Neither this number (919-237-9743) or the alleged call back number (866-295-8722) were found doing a site wide search on https://www.wakemed.org/ (the hospital's web site). I am doubtful that these calls are legitimate, as I would expect at least one of the phone numbers to be listed somewhere on the hospital's web site if they were actually numbers associated with WakeMed.

Just got a voicemail from this number. It is WakeMed's Business Office. You have to call them back at 866-295-8722. They had my number by mistake. I don't owe them a penny.

"I requested a ball back number" I am thinking you meant call not ball? Asking someone you don't trust for a call back number only gets you back to the person you don't trust. However calling this hospital using a known, published number gets you to the proper party.

Identified self as from Wake Medicine (NC) to another person who answered my phone. No one answered upon returning this phone number...user busy. Wake Med reviewed call history and this number is not associated with them.

Claimed to be collecting a non-existent bill on behalf of Wake Med.

Tell them to mail you proof of the debt along with proof they're legally entitled to collect said debt. Don't just pay someone who calls claiming you owe money.
