Area Code 619 Information and Location Details

Another Scam call - Spoofed to say "La Mesa". Blocked.

A Google search indicates this is a number from a recently deceased person. Scammers use these numbers because they look genuine and they are unused. Caller ID is "La Mesa, Ca" and using a city's name is a tipoff for a Scam. Blocked.

What about the numbers that they spoof that actually belong to someone or some company?

Caller ID says: La Mesa. But the number used to be in San Carlos (San Diego). Scammers are known to use dead numbers because they don't want the public to annoy active numbers. I called this # back and it had an auto-hang-up, clue to a taken over phone 3. Blocked.

Really Creative! Caller ID says: "Hangar 94" which is a store here in La Mesa but does not have this phone #. The caller ID is spoofed along with the number. Hangar 94's real # is 619-469-9494. If you call 619-469-4752, it will just automatically hang up. They will leave a voice message that sounds like a car warranty scam.

This is obviously a Scam caller that picks the most common prefix in each city. Of course, everything is totally spoofed. The prefix is 469 and the city on the caller ID is "La Mesa".This is the common Car Warranty Scam and they will leave a voicemail. Blocked.

Whenever you have the name of a city instead of a person's name on your caller ID, be suspicious. In this case, it says "La Mesa'. Spammers know to use your city name when you call. They think that you are more likely will answer a "local" call. NOT!

No, they don't have a source of cancelled phone numbers, they just use a phone number spoofing program. With such a device, you could end up getting a call from your own phone number!
