Why You Might Want To Find Someone’s Spotify Account?
Perhaps, the first thing that comes to mind when you hear about Spotify is music. However, the platform also allows you to connect with people. You might want to look for someone’s Spotify account to find out (or even judge) your friends’ taste in music. You may also be talking to someone online and want to get to know them more through their favorite songs, artists, and genre.
Finding someone’s playlist will not only let you understand the person on a deeper level including their interests but can also help create a stronger bond together. You may want to appreciate these songs that they usually listen to, and you’ll probably get exposed to new genres.
Finding Someone on Spotify
Whether you want to find a friend or love interest’s Spotify account, you can do so by following the steps below:
PC
- Open Spotify and then log into your account.
- On the search bar found at the top part of the screen, enter “spotify:user:username.” This means that you have to know the person’s username beforehand. Remember that this differs from their name.
- Click on the profile and the Follow button. In your Activity tab, you will then see this person’s Spotify activity,
Phone
- Open the Spotify app on your mobile device and enter your login credentials if you’re not automatically logged in.
- Tap on the Search option located at the bottom part of the screen.
- In the search bar, enter the username of the person you’re looking for.
- Scroll down and click on See all profiles. You can now choose the profile that you need.
How to See What Someone’s Listening to on Spotify
To find someone’s playlist on Spotify, you can simply do the following:
- Launch Spotify on your Mac or PC.
- Click the View option and then Friend Activity.
- Click on your friend’s name.
- Then, choose to See All below Public Playlists. You can now check their collection and click on the playlist that you want to listen to.
How To find someone if you don’t have their social media
In case you have not added someone yet on your Facebook friends list to your Spotify account, check the Friends List option on your Facebook profile settings. You can also perform the following:
- Click on the Add Friends option, which is next to Friend Activity.
- Look for the name of the user you want to add. Then, click on Add besides their name. Afterward, they’ll appear in Friend Activity.
- Click on their name in Friend Activity. To see their activity, you can also click your name and then Profile and Following.
Note, however, that you might not be able to see your friends’ playlists for several reasons. For example, they didn’t make their playlists public. Your Spotify might not also be updated yet, so the features and functions are limited.
Finding Someone’s Playlist on Spotify Without Facebook
While connecting your Spotify account to your Facebook account is convenient, you might prefer otherwise. You might not have an account on Facebook in the first place. However, you can still find someone’s playlist through several methods.
For instance, you can enter their name in the search bar, especially if it’s unique. You can also do so with the spotify:user:username format. If you don’t have their username yet, you can ask them to go to the overview page, so you’ll get the combination of numbers and letters. You might want to ask for their playlist link too.
