I had a call the exactly the same as Anon noted above. They called to find out if a package was delivered and it was not . I called the number 1-9712504273 and there was a busy signal. I called again and a recording said to check what I dialed to no avail.

This is USPS, I filed a lost package claim this morning and the number called a few hours later. I didn't answer so they sent an email afterward. My caller ID also identified it as USPS. Someone could be spoofing their number too, but for me this was definitely USPS.

You can not call them back... the number will not accept a call

This woman called saying she was from U.S. postal service and she was calling about an attempt to deliver a package when I was not home- she wanted to know if I would be home today - she also said the contents of the package was listed as a T-Shirt- it was strange because I have not ordered a t-shirt that I am aware of - felt creepy.

Legitimate call from USPS regarding a lost package claim.

Legitimate call from the US Postal Service customer service team about a misrouted and delayed Priority Mail Express (overnight) package for which I had submitted a claim. This was not a spam or telemarketer call. They had a legitimate reason to contact me.

If they left a message stating who they were and or why they called, there wouldn't be so many questions on who this person is. I don't answer numbers that aren't saved in my phone, but I do call back if a message is left. I'm curious as to why it would be their process to not leave anything indication that it was them calling.

This Lady called several times from USPS about a claim of a lost Pakage I had made the day before. The odd part is she called my private cellphone from DHS. Not my home or my personal cellphone. How could she get my DHS confidential number ??? She was nice but I must report she called that phone.

It was a call from USPS about a lost packaged I inquired about.

The number belongs to the customer service center for the US Postal Service.

I Just received a call from this number, and the lady was asking me if I was getting my mail forwarded from Arizona back to St. Louis. I was in in Arizona for the winter and had a forwarding address down there, and a stop forwarding order for March 12, 2014, and I am receiving my mail okay back here in St. Louis, Mo., so why would this lady be calling me?Vernon Vonderheydt

I got a call too. don't know how they new the package was reported missing. She took a lot of info re address etc, email cell. USPS ;after said they didn't cal. So beware!

How do you know it was really USPS? that's what they claimed to me, but when I called USPS toll free number they said no record of them calling.
