Area Code 908 Information and Location Details

Got a call from this number last week when we were away. Didn't recognize the number and of course didn't say WHICH "Union County" it was, so I looked up the number. Don't think this was one of the calls where someone actually left a message (out of 11 calls -- only two of which were from people we knew), 6 were either hangup calls or blocked calls; and only ONE of the messages left was legit: t

Does anybody else getting calls from this phone number?

I would not answer the call, but they have called twice over the past week and I do not have any business with anyone from that State or town (assuming that is actually where the call came from). I am reporting this simply because it is not recognized and seems to correlate with the issues raised with this number in other threads.

Sang “Hello, UNION COUNTY. You’re not from Missouri, but we are and we have a NO CALL LIST”, but they had hung up.

Caller Id was Union County. Answered call same voice as a call from Beverly Hills a month ago or so. A scam call using spoofed jail number. Voice said "Hi Grandpa," my reply was "You have missed his funeral years ago."

I guess those imnmates have nothing better to do with their time -- why they wouldn't take all that time to try to improve themselves is beyond me. Got a creepy, "Hello, Grandma" call. Guy sounded like the thug he likely is!Have now blocked that number.

Got call from ID County Jails in New Jersey. Did not answer. Almost sorry I did not, might have been fun listening to the fool on the other end and the story he might have had.

This morning pathetic sounding guy said he was my grandson.As i have no grand children i told him to get lost.

Answered the phone with "hello?' and the caller said "hello?' back. That's a tipoff. Then she said "hello, Grandpa". There were male voices near her, seemingly talking on other phone lines. I asked "who's this?" and she said "your granddaughter". I asked, "you're my granddaughter?" and she hung up.

Live in CA, got a call from 908-558-2600 and male voice said"Hi Grandma" I sat quiet, and then hung up. I don't have a grandson. BE CAREFUL!!!

It is a scam to take advantage of senior citizens.

"Hello." Pathetic sounding woman says, "Grandma, this is your granddaughter." I said, "Which one?" and said, "The oldest." Pause on my part, "Okay." She hung up. This is the first time I have received one of these calls, so I was unprepared. She hung up when I didn't offer a name, so I should have said, "Mehitabel?" to see how she would have responded to that ! ! !

No reason for NJ Dept of Corrections to randomly call out-of-state!

My husband answered this call. A man's voice said, 'Hi, this is your grandson.' My husband said, 'What can I do for you?' Got a call from this number some time ago, which appears to be registered to a jail in NJ (although there was no caller ID, which there really should be). I ignored it as spam back then. Got another call from it today and decided to answer. I said hello? No answer. Said hello? a second time, still silence on the other end. I hung up. Reporting as spam.
