I was wary about answering this call, but the representative knew information about our company and a problem I was having already, and a notice I had received about it. This is the IRS.

I received 3 calls in less than an hour from this number. I didn't pick up because I don't recognize it. They didn't leave a message. If it is the IRS as others have stated, it could be legit. I do have a business tax issue I've been working on, but it sure would help if they left a voice mail with a call back number.

Returned call and said that the number was no longer in service. Possible scam?

Caller ID said IRS but I didn't answer. I called the number and its says it is not a working number. The call could be legit if you are already working with the IRS but if not and the call comes to you out of the blue, beware!

I can confirm this is the IRS. This particular number is regarding their relief department. I called them yesterday and they called me back with more info regarding my issue, leaving a voice mail. Do not avoid this call.

I think it's a scam. I don't have any troubles with the IRS, and never have. There would be no reason for them to call me. Besides that, I have an accountant do my taxes, and if there were a problem with them, her telephone number would be on my tax returns, not mine. The call came from Covington, Kentucky.

I agree that it is the IRS. I had faxed documents to them pertaining to Form 2290 Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax Return and they called me back from this # and left a voicemail leaving a direct # to call them back.

They called identified himself as IRS. Asked for IPN # and company address. I asked him what our company address he had over there. He said he's asking me. He said if I can give him the last 4 digits of the IPN # he's going to give me the rest of the IPN. I said I don't know who you are because the irs want to contact us they just mail letter. This number is from IRS. You may not return call on that number but he/she will provide you another number to call back.

It is the IRS. They left a message. I called back using a different number and they confirmed that the call was from IRS.

This indeed was the IRS. The IRS reported that I owed them more tax money. I faxed them proof that I did not owe them what they contended that I owed. I received a call from this number and the caller left a message in regards to my fax.
