Area Code 818 Information and Location Details

I received a letter from a collection firm with this number indicating that I owed over $3500 to some company that I had never heard of. I have not failed to pay any bill therefore, I assume they are trying to extort money from anyone they think might pay. I have also seen this number on my cell phone and did not answer.

I am hoping that you immediately sent them a debt validation letter.You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested). Called several times. Left msgs saying he was from the city of Los Angeles, office of finance. Sounded like scam to me but not sure.

Claims I’m behind on filing for a business license that I never applied for...has my business name & an old address that I did business from for a short time but again, I never filed for a business license & I’m paid up on all of my business taxes. Fraud!!!

Received a call from this number that an account was past due and had been given to collections. I checked my account, but I didn't have any unpaid invoices and called the real company to make ensure. The call from this number was definitely fraud/spam.

I got a call from Monique stating I owe an outstanding amount on my vet account for an amount over $1000.00. My account plan total was under $1000 and payments had been made. I settled my payment plan with the actually company and she’s continued to call me stating i am in collections and owe them an outrageous amount. I notified her that she would be contacted my my counsel.

Got a call from this number, answered it. They asked for my wife. I said that she was not at this number. She said thank you and hung up. She did start the conversation by telling me her name, which I forgot, and that the conversation may be recorded.I got the sense that it was a debt collector.

While your post is 2 years old, I need to correct something. Tax debt is not consumer debt and is subject to FDCPA collection laws.

This is a SCAM. These people call people who are exempt from city taxes (those that make $100K or LESS per year) and try and trick you into thinking you still need to pay, saying it is now in "collections" (which is total BS) Do NOT send them any money. Took care of this issue YEARS ago and had a promise they would not harass us again but...here you go.

Woman left message saying it was Caine & Weiner and to call them. I called back, woman answered, "Caine & Weiner." I said I got a message to call them about a debt collection.
