Just find out if the company you owe has online paying service-- if they do then just make a small payment online every month- This way, the scavanger collector loses on his fee. Fee is the amount the agency charges, and then he gets a much smaller cut of that fee.

The federal law will not allow a third party collector leave the company name or any information regarding the call on a recorder. This is because someone other than the intended party might get the information--thus 3rd party disclosure.
