Area Code 602 Information and Location Details

i got a costco membership with the optional AmEx card that comes with it. couple of days later i got a call from this 602 #. didn't answer. they called again a few days later and left a msg (indian accent). i assume they outsource their call center to india like DELL and all those other companies do. but i would still call AmEx directly and have them transfer your call to the right dep.

i as well got a call from this number. i contacted AMEX and they said that was from there office in Phoenix. So i guess its not a scam

I received a call from this number with the same message and leaving the 1-800-379-3643 callback number. I called AmEx's general number (from their website) and they had no record of either having called me or having a new application filed in my name. The rep I spoke with could not find this 866 number in the system. Smells like scam to me.

I also received a call from a woman with an accent. She wanted to verify my home address in order to further process my application for a new Clear card. She asked for the last 4 of my social, then set up a three-way call with a guy who was supposed to be from my bank. I did not get that guy's name or phone number (STUPID!). It was probably against my better judgment, but I gave that guy who said

Same number appeared on phone, but with 1-866-379-3643 call back number in message. The message was so poor we could only understand the call back number and American Express. Person I spoke with said they were calling to verify my info due to my recent application for an Optimim Platinum Card. This was new to me. She said they were alerted due to a different address than what was in their records

I just got a call from this 602-766-6484 phone and the guy with accent want my last 4 digits of SSN and my address. I gave him but then he said he want to talk to my bank to verify my address; I said I have BOA account. It's funny that he even kept me waiting for 5 mins then another guy claimed to be a BOA guy that he cannot find my account that he wanted my SSN and account #. It should be a scam.

I don't know about that, i've only verified the numbers i mentioned above.

If they knew all that information about you, it was definitely Amex calling you. I had the same problem where I wanted to verify a callback number but their "general" customer service could not do it.What you need to do to verify their call back number is to speak with the "specific" department of the card in question, for example "Blue", "Clear" etc.Speaking with that specialist department should

I got the same call but gave my SSN. 2 weeks later I got my Amex cards in the mail.However, I would highly suggest that you do not do what I did. Instead, hang up the phone, call Amex general customer service, ask for new accounts, and give them the information they need that way.

got a call, called back and she wanted my soc. didn't give it.

got a call from an indian guy claiming he was calling from amex. and wanted 4 last digits of my ssn. talked to amex, they say this is not a number from amex. THIS NUMBER IS A TOTAL SCAM... but the weirdest part is they know everything, work phone, address, name -even my middle name which I dont use at all-

recently applied for a amex card and just got the same call with a message from a woman with a thick accent (not sure of nationality). called back and the automated system asked me for my SSN#. myeah, don't think so pal! I'll be calling AMEX to verify it later.

I still believe 602-766-6484 is a scam. If they would have left 1-800-DISCOVER as a callback and said they were from Discover I would still question the original number the call came from. I've contacted AMEX Fraud with 602-766-6484, they are checking into it & will get back to me.

I also recieved a call in the afternoon today. The guy even left a tollfree no. 866 379 3643. I tried searching for this no. on google and amex site but no luck.It seems to be a racket.

2 calls in 24 hours from this # from people with heavy Indian accents claiming to be from Amex...when I called back automated system, first thing it asked me for was my SS#...why would AMEX give out a # that's not toll free???? I notified AMEX & they're "looking into it"

AMEX rep left a message saying it was in regards to a recent application for credit. I did apply recently, so it might be legit, but I decided not to call back so I can't say for sure.
