If you’re worried about your credit score, you aren’t alone. Millions of consumers have lower than average scores and want to improve their credit. VantageScore<\/a> saw that out of 220 million people with credit scores, about 68 million of them have bad or poor scores.<\/p>\n

One risk is that the person on the other end of the phone line is a scammer wanting to get access to your driver’s license number or Social Security number. Another is that they are a paid service who will keep your money without offering any legal help.<\/p>\n

Always ask for everything in writing, when any salesperson calls you. Never give out your credit card or banking information by phone. Negative items on your credit report can only be removed for specific reasons.
