2. Sending You Links<\/h3>\n\n\n

These scams are known as phishing<\/a> scams. This is where the scammer will send you a link, and come up with reasons for why you should click on it. The link will often contain a page that will ask you to type in plenty of personal information that the scammer can then use for identity fraud<\/a>, and steal your personal finances. The links can also contain malware<\/a>, which will infect your device with viruses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scammers will also pretend to be a customer service<\/a> rep from LINE and send you a link that will look like the LINE login page. Do not enter any information on that. If you need to update any information, go directly to the LINE website and make the changes from there. <\/p>\n\n\n

Another classic scam is claiming that you\u2019ve won a prize. Here scammers will send you a link, and much like the phishing scam<\/a>, you will be asked to give them a ton of personal information in order to claim your prize. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will either do it this way, or simply ask that you send them a fee in order to obtain your prize. If you do this, they will simply take your money and use it for personal gain without sending you any prize. <\/p>\n\n\n

4. Help You Earn A Lot Of Money<\/h3>\n\n\n

The reimbursement scam is when scammers tell you that all you need to do is send them a small fee along with some personal information<\/a> and you will receive a whopping $10,000. It seems too good to be true doesn\u2019t it? Well, that\u2019s because it is. If you send them the money all they will do is block your account, take the money, and you\u2019ll never see a cent of the promised $10,000. <\/p>\n\n\n

5. The Lovers Scam<\/h3>\n\n\n

This scam revolves around people you meet on dating apps<\/a>. Once you begin speaking with someone who seems to share much of the same interests, and is a joy to talk to, then they begin asking for money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will tell you it\u2019s for an emergency, or they\u2019re strapped for cash and need some groceries. If you fall for this they will continue until you tell them that you no longer have any money, or that you\u2019re cutting them off. Once you do this, they\u2019ll block you and you won\u2019t hear from them again. The only memory you\u2019ll have of them is a drained bank account<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n
