A woman on TikTok named Kirsteen Coupar<\/a> has become viral due to her videos where this TikTok star catfishes her catfish. She goes onto dating sites, hoping to find the guy of her dreams, but instead comes across catfish. Instead of falling for their romance scams, she proceeds to prank them on TikTok<\/a> and lead them on with her funny tactics before they realize she is also catfishing them. So far, she has catfished around 9 men and plans to catfish more on her TikTok<\/a> series to spread awareness about how common being catfished actually is.<\/p>\n

Kirsteen met Mark on OkCupid<\/a> and suspected that something wasn’t right within their first conversation. Immediately, Mark told her that he was a widow which led her to believe that he was a catfish immediately. She realized that a lot of catfish and romance scammers have similar backstories of being a widow because their wives have passed away due to car accidents.<\/p>\n

Because of this, she performed a reverse image search<\/a> to find out that there were tons of social media and dating profiles that used Mark’s photo as their profile image. She also found out that the photos of “Mark” were actually of athlete Patrik Sj\u00f6berg, who was well aware that his photo was being used for catfish scams.<\/p>\n

This led to Kirsteen playing along with Mark’s chats, knowing the entire time that he was a catfish. She documented his replies to her and his romantic pick-up lines that were meant to sweep Kirsteen off her feet. Then after she got to know him more, she would ask her followers to help think of ways to prank the catfish.<\/a> This led to her becoming a TikTok star who catfishes her catfish.<\/p>\n

China Dolls and Song Lyrics<\/h3>\n

Her followers asked her to pretend to collect China dolls, so she messaged the catfish<\/a> about this hobby. She also asked her catfish to name one of the dolls, and he named her Princess Lia. Kirsteen told him that the next time she sees the doll she was going to think of him.<\/p>\n

Her followers also asked her to only talk to him using song lyrics, which she did. She said things like, “There is something in the air tonight, the stars are shining bright. They are shining there for you and me,” and “Our love is like a song, but you won’t sing along.”<\/p>\n

Then as the conversations go on, she tells him that she is going to buy a ring for him to symbolize their love. She also tells him how much she loves his glorious beard and asks to braid it. His response was that Kirsteen was very sweet.<\/p>\n

Her Friends Think He’s a Catfish, But He’s Her “Lobster”<\/h3>\n

She then calls him her “lobster,” referencing a line from the “Friends” television series, and asks him to take a photo of himself wearing a red shirt, holding a whiteboard that says “you are my lobster.” She says that her friends don’t think he is real because he won’t send her his address, which is why she wants the photo.<\/p>\n

He responds angrily and wonders why her friends would say this about him. She replies that they are just trying to protect her. He responds with how worried he is that her friends would even think he is a catfish.<\/a> He goes out of the way to prove he is real by sending over his “legit” engineering certificates. She Tells Mark That Her Kidneys are Failing<\/h3>\n

He said that her friend Fanny and she have had a falling out due to not believing that Mark was a catfish. She told him that she now has to choose between her and Mark. She tells him she chooses him and tells Mark that she has kidney failure per the request of her Facebook<\/a> and TikTok followers.<\/a> She tells Mark she can’t talk to him anymore because she needs to focus on getting a new kidney.<\/p>\n

After she tells him this, Mark offers to donate one of his kidneys for her. He claims that he is booked his flight from China just so he can see her and get his kidney tested for her. She pretends to show up at the airport and sends him repeated text messages<\/a>, pretending to be worried that he didn’t show up at the airport. He responds that his flight got rescheduled and couldn’t respond until later because his phone was broken.<\/a><\/p>\n

Mark Asks Her For Money<\/h3>\n

He then texts her stating that he needs a favor from her and states that he needs money for civil engineering tools from her. He claims that he needs them to finish the job before seeing her. This would cost her 1,100 pounds, which of course she has “floating in her back pocket,” she states sarcastically.<\/p>\n

He tells her that he can send this money to a UK bank account<\/a> where she’s from instead of sending it to a bank account in China where he is supposedly at. She’s Supposedly in the Hospital<\/h3>\n

She decides to ignore this detail and plays along, pretending that she is falling for his scam. She asks if they can meet at the Tower of England, and he agrees. He emails her a list of tools he pretends that he needs, and she pretends like she believes that he actually needs these tools. She pretends that she’s been taken to a hospital, and pretends that Fanny is the one talking to Mark.<\/p>\n

Fanny tells Mark that she has no interest in talking to him after what she’s heard of him. Mark acts concerned and asks her what he’s heard about her. Fanny then says she has to go and leaves the phone with Kirsteen. She then tells Mark that she can leave the hospital tomorrow and apologizes for not being able to send him money.<\/p>\n

Her “Catfish Friend” Ordered Tools for Mark!<\/h3>\n

Instead, she supposedly sent the invoice to a friend who was able to order the tools for Mark! Kirsteen states that she knows Mark will be pissed since he is only after the money and not the tools. The tools were an excuse to get money from Kirsteen. He starts stating that he only likes special brand tools and that his merchant might be able to provide him with these tools, so he wants her friend to cancel the order.<\/p>\n

She pretends that there is a new catfish<\/a> that she sent the money to named David. She said she met him on Facebook and said that she could trust him to send the tools over to Mark. She told Mark that she sent the money over to David to get the tools for Mark, and now he is warning her that David might be a catfish. Mark still doesn’t know that she is a TikTok star who catfishes her catfish.<\/p>\n

Mark requested that David wore a red shirt and took a photo of himself holding a sign that says “the order has been successfully placed and will arrive soon.” Panicked, Kirsteen posted this request on her Facebook<\/a>, and one of her guy friends offered to send a picture of himself in a red shirt holding up the requested sign. She’s Been Taken to the Hospital (Again)<\/h3>\n

Mark sent Kirsteen a photo of him, her, and the china doll Princess Lia where he captioned that this was his “happy family.” She pretends to be her friend Emma and contacts him to tell him that Kate (Kirsteen’s fake name) has been put into an induced coma. She doesn’t know when she is going to wake up and offers to send him money to come see her.<\/p>\n

He then tells Emma that his daughter has had surgery with a robotic surgeon. He says that the surgery went well but doesn’t want to tell Kate to prevent her from worrying. Kate texts Mark stating that she is awake and asks how her lobster is doing. He says he is doing good and asks how she is doing. Kate says she is doing good and that she is happy that she can message him again.<\/p>\n

Mark Realizes that Kirsteen (Kate) is Also a Catfish<\/h3>\n

The catfish then calls her by her real name, proving that she knows Kirsteen is also a TikTok star that catfishes her catfish. Kirsteen told him how excited she was that he finally used his two brain cells and said that she knew Mark was a catfish with the third message. Mark did not respond to her after writing this message, so she continues to call him a “soulless self-serving worthless person” and “he thinks he’s so smart but has such a small mind.”<\/p>\n

She also stood up for the women who were fooled by this catfish and tells him that it’s not right that he does this. Mark then apologizes for everything he has caused and the mess he caused her. He then says he will stop catfishing people. He keeps telling her that he will change and that he still wants to talk to her. She then blocks him and tells him she doesn’t trust him.<\/p>\n
