Tony was looking for a date. and like many people, he turned to dating sites. And that is the only normal part of this story.
Tony met a woman named Patricia on Meetly. The strangest part of this story is the situation that Patricia was in. Patricia was seemingly being held against her will by a strange company. The company has “managers”. Toney said that he couldn’t completely decern the purpose of these managers, but it seemed to be to “keep the women in line” and “on schedule”…
Tony talked to Patricia for a while, then he seemed to work out a deal with these managers. Tony would make a few payments and then they would “deliver” her to him and “she would be his”… Tony says they agreed that he could use her for any purpose he wanted. And they had an agreement.
It seemed like Patricia was in a dangerous situation from the very beginning. But the situation only went downhill from there.
One night, Patricia reached out to Tony in a panic. She said that the “guard” who watched over her took her phone and broke it, then became physically abusive. Striking her in the stomach and face, then threatening to take advantage of her sexually. When Patricia came to tony with this news, his only response was “Well what did you learn? What action drove him to do that”. It seemed that Tony completely lacked remorse for the situation that Patricia was in. All he cared about was getting her “delivered” to him. But in his eyes, there was only one problem, her managers kept changing the price.
This raised doubts in Tony’s mind. He started to question if Patricia was really going to be delivered to him after the thousands of dollars he sent to the “company”. So he sent a casually worded email to our team asking if we could look into the identity of the girl he had been talking to.
When looking into this case, we were appalled. And for the first time in Social Catfish’s history, we were glad that Tony was scammed. It seems that his intention to purchase a human being for his own pleasure was a complete scam. Patricia wasn’t real, meaning the horrific situation she was in was just a made-up story created to scam creeps on the internet looking to purchase a woman in an apparent human trafficking ring. After we confirmed that the woman in the photos was not “Patricia”, but the photos of a model that were taken when she was 17, we refused to help Tony in any way. and cut ties with this investigation.
Tony claims that he was paying these “fees” so he could help free her from the “guards and managers”. However, his words describing his expectations say the exact opposite… In the screenshots of the messages Tony had with the guards, it was clear that he was expecting to purchase Patricia in order to exploit her sexually because he said it in his own words in a very graphic and explicit manner…
Although the story told to Tony was fabricated in order to scam him out of money, human trafficking is a serious issue that affects people around the world. If you suspect that someone is actually in one of these situations, go to the authorities immediately. if you would like to know more about how you can stop human trafficking, visit endhumantrafficing.org
