The OkCupid search was once straightforward to search for people. As with many dating app upgrades, their increased privacy methods have made it harder to find someone. Today, I'll… Read More
For someone performing a Zoosk search to find someone’s profile, hearing of 35 million users can be intimidating! Read our tips to save time.
Zoosk promotes their Behavioral Matchmaking algorithm to their 35 million members. Zoosk does have a critical claim to fame – they are the “#1 grossing online dating app in the Apple App Store”. Translated into 25 languages, in over 80 countries. Sign up can be done by email, or synced with Facebook or Google+.
The “Search” option on Zoosk is easy to find. On the web-based version of the site, look to the upper left hand corner of the webpage. Select “Search,” located beneath the Zoosk symbol, after you sign up and log-in. Whatever you picked as your basic preferences during sign-up will be displayed.
Do be careful when selecting the gender you’re interested in during your sign up for your Zoosk search. Be careful that you may mistakenly click the wrong selection for gender and who you’re interested.
After you click “Search,” you will see a ready-made search based on auto-settings from your sign-up. From there, click on any of the blue highlighted options (age selection, location, or “edit search”) to amend what you’re looking.
The distance you are searching for your home or location is “auto-selected” and will need to be adjusted if you prefer a smaller search range. If you’re looking for the age range, the same happens. It could be auto set to anything ranging from 18 to a much more mature age (a.k.a., older).
“Edit Search” will only let you change age range, location, and search distance. If you don’t find what you’re looking for or have too many results to look through, proceed to “Advanced Search.”
However, before you leave the basic search page you are on for your Zoosk search, you have the option of “Save this search” which will save that particular age range and location setting as one of your six “custom searches.”
Like “Search,” “Advanced Search will be auto-set to “Any.” While “Any” might be just what you’re looking for, Advanced Search gives you more options and the following categories: “Relationship,” “Children,” “Ethnicity,” “Religion,” “Education,” “Body Type,” and “Smoking.” After you have made your selection, you can then opt for “reset,” “Save this search” or move on and do a one time search by proceeding.
The “advanced search” options on Zoosk are fewer than many other sites offer. Advanced Search can make a search for an exclusive or evasive person very difficult and frustrating. Zoosk does not offer “username” searches, which means you CANNOT search for someone using their Zoosk display name.
The one exception to searching for a particular person is through your “Connections” page. The “Connections” tab, located on the upper left side of the web-page, upon login. Look four selections under the “Search” tab and click “Connections,“ to view people you have ALREADY connected.
Sometimes the individual you’re seeking has also been searching for you! Look for exact matches and vague profiles that might be whom you’re searching. The “Views” tab, located beneath the “Connections” selection with an eyeglass symbol.
Since Zoosk is harder to search compared to other dating sites to find out if someone is them and advanced search options are limited if you’re not having luck finding the person you want, consider searching through sites like Social Catfish.
Social Catfish’s algorithm based search can seek out usernames, people, profiles and details across the entire world wide web and all platforms. Social Catfish can minimize lost time and yield better results.
Don’t give up. Your next best search is out there!
